DO YOU KNOW …
… someone in need of a wheelchair. If so contact Douglas on 564889. There is no charge for it but a donation to All Saints’ would be appreciated.

Help wanted please!
Sandra Ferguson does a great job with organising concert bookings here, quite apart from all the social events she arranges for us, but not everyone realises perhaps just how much time she puts in, especially in terms of being on hand in and around rehearsals and preparations for concerts. It would help very much indeed if someone with the right degree of patience and meticulous note-taking were able and willing, please, to take on the Performing Rights Society aspect of her work here.

Sandra writes:
"It would require someone with emailing experience and who would be willing to sit at the concert and count audience numbers and also make a note of the length of each musical item on the programme. (If on "hols" this can be done by someone else!!). Keep the programmes and send every three months to the Performing Rights with the saved programmes for them to read. They will then cost out the charges and send the bill to us who in turn post the bill to each concert organiser.... they pay us and we pay PRS."

Anyone who feels drawn to help in this way, please approach Sandra.

We should all be aware of what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency occurring. Below are the arrangements for: -

EMERGENCY EVACUATION of the CHURCH

There are five exits: west and north doors (both secured by bolts); vestry, hall and kitchen doors (all key locked). In the event of a need for emergency evacuation during services, responsibility for the east end lies with a churchwarden, then the director of music, then the organist. The responsible person should have with him a vestry key and a mobile phone. At the west end (including the hall) responsibility lies with a churchwarden, then an ‘Assistant’, then a sidesman. The responsible person should have with him/her a hall door key, and a mobile phone. The responsible person who first becomes aware of the fire should determine the risk, the evacuation route, and if there is a need to call the fire service. The assembly point is be the north west corner of the main car park (towards the bus stop). Hirers of the church and hall should be aware of the church evacuation plan, and should acknowledge in writing that they are responsible for their own evacuation and plan – including necessary announcements at the beginning of events.
